I can't second guess what's open on your machine, I'm afraid, Bordi.

Sorry mate I didn’t mean that

What I was saying was should I close everything as the error suggests

Run the command “dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:C:\mount /commit” again

Then continue to the next stage but you’ve already answered the question with the modifications you made

    So thanks again:)

    I guess so :)

If you follow-up by checking out the modified boot.wim & Install.wim images, e.g. with 7-zipFM to confirm that they have the inf folders from your c:\drivers incorporated into the Windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ (I would guess) folder,or elsewhere within the Wimfiles.

Boot.wim would be easier since it's smaller, so check this first, then Install.wim.

    Couldn’t find modified boot.wim & Install.wim images in windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository\

But I continued with the commands “dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:c:\iso\sources\install.wim” successfully which gave me index 8 for Win pro

    But the next command “dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\iso\sources\install.wim /index:8 /mountdir:c:\mount”

Is saying I’m attempting to mount to a directory that already contained a mounted image

This is back to front, or bassackwards as some might say!

In the c:\ISO\sources folder, the boot.wim and install.wim files that you mounted, added drivers to, and then unmounted should show evidence that they contain the added drivers.

7-zipFM can open wim files from the c:\Iso\sources folder, like it can open other archive and image files so you can view the contents - here I have opened an install .wim:

    Win 10 RS-4 not compatible with Intel DX58SO motherboard-image.png

If you have a mounted image in c:\mount, you can explore it in File Explorer to determine if the drivers from the c:\drivers folder are there.

If they are, then close file explorer, and run the command to unmount the image.

Deal with c:\iso\sources\boot.wim - mount, add drivers, unmount, and then with c:\iso\sources\install.wim - mount, add drivers, unmount. Then you should be ready to attempt setup.

Yes boot.wim and install.wim files are in the iso\sources folder with today’s date so that should be fine
But there’s no trace of the drivers

In the ISO\sources folder what's the size of boot.wim and install.wim, and how do these compare with the sizes of these files in the original iso sources folder?

If you have added drivers they should both be bigger than the originals.

    In the

    c:\iso\sources\boot.wim 18/12/20017 616,191 KB
    c:\iso\sources\\install.wim 18/12/20017 4,030,280 KB

Where would I find the originals to compare?

    Edit:
found it but not the same size

I could delete everything and start fresh if you think that would help
    What do you think?:)
