It hasn't been a problem for me since joining the Technical Preview when it first became available, now known as the Insider Preview. I have 2 older computers, Dell OptiPlex 755 and Dell Inspiron 530S SFF, that have never run any other version/s of Win10. I do have the RTM on other computers using the same Microsoft Accounts, one at Hotmail.com and one at Outlook.com, without issues. Using Local Accounts aren't involved.

Oh ok just wanted to check before I messed up retail install of Pro here lol, clicks go ahead on the other PC, and lets it get started in that case then lol.

That's the total reason I have the IP on different computers than my production machines and I didn't want to junk those 2. If one has a total melt-down I haven't lost anything. By rehabbing the computers I avoid the myriad issues with dual-booting.

Totally avoid issues with Dual booting, and puts other system to some use, while may not be used all the time, at least gets some use. Install went well with Slow ring for now. first time I had a spare machine capable of running 10 lol, other spare machine so slow can barely run Windows 7 lol, so I was like ok not on that one

"affect retail version with same Microsoft account" << In what way? Just curious what you think might happen? Activation is tied to the hardware and has nothing to do with whether you use a Microsoft Account of not. You can activate with a Digital license with a Local Account, or a totally different account from when that device first got its Digital License.

Ohhh I see, I thought would affect it via enabling Insider on all machines using that account, yes still a noob with insider program lol, but learning as I go so far lol. Did remove Avast off that machine before getting the insider one setup, and kept the others with Avast Free, as somehow trust that a bit more, guess since been using it like 14 years

Opting in to insider builds only affects that one device you do it on. It's not a global setting across all devices.

Oh ok, knew was probably wrong in thinking that it was a global setting at first

No problem, doesn't hurt to ask if your not sure of something. Have fun.
