Can I re-join insider ring without losing license of existing Windows

    Hi folks
I think I'd like to join the insider ring again - my only question is do I lose the licence I already have for my W10 PRO. I'll back it up in any case but I assume I can just install the insider version as per normal Windows install.

    Cheers

In my case use a quick swop dual hard drive rack using two separate SSD,s, then made an exact clone and joined the insider ring on one of them.
You do not lose your licence if on same computer.

You can dual boot Insider version along side release version. The install can be on same drive or different drive.

    Thanks guys

Quick SSD swap seems the best method ==>I've got a server where I can just unplug one SSD (or HDD) (having shut down -- can't hot swap the BOOT SSD !!) and plug in another one and re-boot. No problem there -- door on front of server opens without any tools needed -- open and unplug. --pull out SSD 1 and insert SSD 2 and re-boot.

I'm not a fan of dual booting OS'es -- for that type of stuff I'll use VM's.

I was worried about losing Digital licence on the retail W10 if I installed the insider version. Separate SSD's isolates any potential problems there.

    Thanks again guys.

Nah - you will be back eventally - you will get bored and see some sexy new feature e.g. the long awaited Timeline, and rejoin . Besides you will miss fun of replying Insider Posts.

As SC said "Never say Never".

RS4 will not work on my Machine, neither does RS3..If I get a new machine maybe but that is not likely.

That is different to implication in your post which implies voluntarily. Why does RS3 not work on your PC?

    To clarify this license question:

To jump in and out Insider program, install an Insider build then going back to official release, and again back to Insider builds has none whatsoever effect on Windows 10 digital license on your PC.

Your digital license is valid for the lifetime of that hardware setup covering all versions and builds as long as the edition remains the same. License is not lost if you for instance remove official version 1709 on your PC by wiping hard disk empty then clean install latest fast ring Insider build. The digital license that had activated original 1709 will also automatically activate new fast ring build. When you for any reason want to stop using Insider build in the future and reinstall official release, you will have no activation issues because again the digital license for your hardware setup is there, taking care of activation.

Short: When your PC in its current hardware setup has got digital license, it is valid for that edition regardless which version and build you install, regardless if Insider build or not.
