Going from insider preview to full build

So about month ago I downloaded insider preview build 10162. Now when they are releasing windows 10 will I get a update or do I have to downgrade to win 8.1 and then get the upgrade? Also will my key work if I instead of going back to win 8.1 i download the full build iso and use key while installing it? My key is embedded into the bios.

Download an ISO file and do it that way. It is easy.

If you have been an Insider the builds should have updated up to 10240. If you're running 10240 that is the final build, you can stay activated on that build as an Insider if you wish.

If you want Windows 10 without being an Insider you'll have to reinstall Windows 8 then upgrade through Windows Updates to receive the free Windows 10 offer.
