Windows 10: I'm receiving emails at an old address.

  1.    14 Sep 2017 #1

I'm receiving emails at an old address.

I'm receiving Windows Insider newsletter emails at on old address. These are informational emails about the program. I now use an email account at This is the email I use to login to Windows and to access other MS sites. I probably used my old address way back when but when I changed it to these newsletters kept going to my old address.

Any help to change it will be appreciated. I suspect my old email address will go away at some point.

    Hi streetwolf.

Not sure if email address will go away if you are still getting mail. Before going any further, did you then add this old email account to your new or did you forward all mail from old address to new address for the transition.

I think would close old email account but I would like to understand how old mail is finding you. If you were to close old email account.

Make sure you close the correct account. Sometimes with our systems remembering stuff it will route us automatically to the wrong account. Check twice, close once. If you close wrong account I'm not sure if it can be re-opened.

You may be able edit your old insider microsoft account. Another member may have more info on that.

All email from MS except for this 'newsletter' as I call it goes to my address. Every place I go to that uses my MS account shows my address. I am not forwarding anything. I'm pretty sure, as I said, that my MS email address was my old one at one time. After I changed it all MS stuff went to outlook except for the Insider stuff. When I go to Windows Insider Program | Get the latest Windows features I even sign in with my outlook address. I looked on this site for my old email address but didn't find any place to change/update an address.

Just for clarity it is possible to have both an and an address used in Microsoft Office/Outlook E-Mail Client. Can even have a address as well as addresses provided by ones ISP/Internet Service Provider. If changing an ISP the E-Mail usually is also canceled unless paying a small amount to maintain that E-Mail service.

So when you got this new address did you open a brand new account?

I would guess then that if you didn't forward mail you signed into both each day to manage during transition. Correct?

When I changed to I changed my MS login also. As I said everything MS has my address except the Insider newsletter. I was going to my old ISP's web mail site to view the few messages that still go there. None aren't important other than the Insider stuff. I use MS Mail on my desktop. I just added my old address to MS Mail so now I get email from my old ISP. I'd still like to know where the Insider Program is getting my old address.

When you became a member you supplied address. That option still exists.

When I sign in to the site I use my address. Are you saying there is a place to change my email address for the newsletter after I sign in? If so, a link to it would be appreciated.

That I'm not sure of but I know when I signed up I had to supply and email address. Not sure where they store that.

If you open a browser you don't use, we don't want any store cookies or passwords, the go to and try to sign in with old email address and password. Should be interesting to see if it takes.
