New tool to convert MBR to GPT, anyone try it and questions ...

    Please look over:

How to convert an MBR disk to GPT and move from BIOS to UEFI on Windows 10 | Windows Central

I can see doing on my win 10 install, my question though it that I have three other data drives, would I need to convert those as well after the main OS drive?

If it assists, my MB is a EVGA X97 Classified, so that anyone can look over it's bios, etc. I know I'm in BIOS mode as I did a MB change out of an existing win 10 install that was on an MBR disk. Only way to keep data at that juncture. But switching over would give some performance increases I would think.

    Thanks ahead of time.

It works pretty good as long as you don't have more than 3 partitions on the disk to convert.

There are no real performance gains to be accomplished switching to GPT to enable UEFI booting. If performance is the only reason you are switching, then you will be disappointed. The real reason to switch to GPT is if you have a drive over 2TB in total size, or you want more than 4 primary partitions on a particular drive.

    Or secure boot.

Cool, appreciate the link to the TF page on the subject.

I'll have to look at my drives tonight, partition wise, likely with the info gleaned, I could leave it alone and not suffer at all.

In fact, thinking about it, I'd be better off getting a new SATA drive rated to my mainboard's SATA chipset capabilities, which would kick up performance with transfer speeds, easier to clone a drive over and get that instant boost ...

    Everyone have a great weekend!

Also, make sure your SATA controller is running in AHCI mode and not IDE mode (setting in UEFI/BIOS). But you have to uninstall the IDE controller driver in Windows before you make the switch to AHCI otherwise Windows will fail to load. That setting WILL affect performance.
