Yea I ended up just downloading the iso and running it 'in place'.

    Installed perfectly.

    Thanks for the heads up..
I'm running 16199 and apart from the usual BSOD after every update (just reboot and it goes away) I d/loaded it and ran it from a USB key and the install ran great no problems at all even did the updates

The .iso file I downloaded at 4.7GB is too big for a DVD but okay on a DVD+R/DL.
Didn't work for me and I created my own ISO and downloaded one online. But, I am interested in knowing the exact size of yours because the one I created (Windows PRO) was 3.86 GB and the ISO I downloaded (WINDOWS COMBINED) is 4.41 GB.

Not familiar with the rules, can you post the link? Or hint as to where to get it?

Right-click the Start button, click System. Or click Control Panel then System or maybe Settings and wade through a couple of screens to find it.

Why does everyone run ISOs from DVDs and USBs? I just mount the ISO and run it from the hard disk and I've never had a problem..

The iso can be used as a virtual DVD as you are doing but it takes time to download and install on multiple computers. Having the USB gives you additional options in case you cannot get to the files on the computer. And having the USB gives you options to fix operating systems/registry problems on multiple computers.
