    Windows 10 x86 14383 Insider Pro and Core 10240

The devices both have the same PC name " CHD-RVE-PC " in the MSA devices section - I'd change the insider computer name to something slightly different. I imagine the hardware hash is confusing the activation server with both set the same.

Any change noticed when attempting activation?

    If not, try the following:

Can you copy gatherosstate.exe from 15063 setup iso in the \sources folder to the desktop of the 15063 installation, run it as admin, and obtain a genuineticket.xml file on the desktop?

If so, keep the file safe, and make a copy to the insider 16188 [driveletter]:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket\ folder and reboot to the insider installation. It should now be activated.

Of course, this is not true. It was activate with Win 7 Ultimate and upgraded to 10 two years ago, with no issues whatsoever. I had the digital license linked to my MS account since last year. So... (rhetorically) What changed???
Do you still have the product key for Windows 7 Ultimate? Just change the product key to that.

I will try the rename here in a bit. As for your other instructions, I know what you want me to do, but I am a little unclear as to how to achieve it. Not sure what you mean by "to the desktop of the 15063 installation". I can open the iso to access files - but I suppose I didn't realize that you can execute files from within an open iso. Perhaps I am confused...

Oh how I wish I knew what happened to that little box with many of my software DVDs (during a move). So, no to answer your question. I was really hoping I wouldn't need it during the transition to Win10, and fortunately I didn't.

I also spent some time in a chat with MS and while the girl was nice, we got nowhere. I tried the slui 4 command to get some codes for her, but the command did nothing...

The Microsoft Activation Troubleshooter won't let you transfer the digital license from the computer listed on your Microsoft Account?

The trouble shooter tells me that it can't activate on this device and to go to the store. That is about all I get out of it...

And I do appreciate all of your help (everyone on this thread!).

It shows 2 devices, your insider installation 16188 above and a non-insider Creators Update 15063 below. Since they both have the same computer name:

    CHD-RVE-PC

    - I assumed that with the same computername, they were on the same physical machine, either as dual boot or as separate booting selected by the Bios Boot menu, although you have not explicitly given this info. My mistake.

If on different physical machines, ignore the "copy GatherosState.exe to the desktop..." instruction, just rename the Insider 16188 computer name, reboot, then attempt to activate by one or any of the methods given by NavyLCDR or Superfly etc. and reboot again, and see what the licence/activation state is then. It may take a while for activation to kick in. Checking for updates may speed this up.

The error code that appears initially in the event log section of the report (0x8007139F) seems to relate to networking (whether it plays a large enough role in hardware ID to nullify the digital licence, or merely a connectivity issue, I dunno) but see here for a possible fix to that error.

This is all on the same machine. No dual booting or anything like that. I don't remember the exact date, but sometime earlier this year I switched from the slow ring to the fast ring and I would get build updates sometimes twice a week. I usually save an image (for backup) a couple times a month, but after the switch to fast ring, I stopped since I would have to save an image more frequently with all the build updates - anyway, the last image of my "stock" system was in mid March - which seems to coincide with the date on the 15063 build shown in my MS account. It is like something didn't make the change to my current build and messed up the activation. I figured that once you were activated with the digital link to your MS account, you were solid. Barring a motherboard change, you were set for good. It would appear that I have found a way to break it! I renamed the computer last night, and shut down but I have not rebooted it yet to see what happens (I am on my work computer now). I did finally get the image from March on a separate SSD, but I have not tried it yet. If MS thinks that 15063 is activatable (is that a word?), then I would expect the 15063 SSD to fire up and show a good activation.

Interesting - I will have to check this out later today. Thanks for digging into all this.

Tried the rename thing - no luck. Put the image of (10.0.15063.0) on another drive and it showed activated for about 10 seconds (it only said 'activated' but nothing about a link to my MS account).

So I grabbed an old image of Win7 and fired it up - it shows as being activated. (I am tempted to start from scratch). Next step may be to try and throw 10 on there. I still have an image of 1511 somewhere.

Another option is to try and talk directly with MS and plead my case. Ever have any luck going that route?
