Shutdown not shutting down the computer. Build 10166

Shutdown not shutting down the computer. No matter which shutdown I use.

The two things I did before this issue is turn on Cortana and Show Search/Cortana icon instead of the search box.

What the shutdown does is put it in sleep mode (No, I didn't hit that by mistake) or hibernation mode.

I would hate that my system would be compatible for pre-release 10 builds but not be compatible with rtm.

Restart and signing out still works.

I haven't tried the command line shutdown though.

I can't get the feedback app installed it is not working correctly.

    Update

Fixed or at least a workaround. I disabled fast startup in windows 10.

Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 10

    Power Options
Choose what the power buttons do
Change setting that are currently unavailable
Uncheck Turn on fast startup (Recommended)

That fixed the shutdown problem. The feedback applications is still not working.

I think it is because they suspended the builds it also suspended the feedback. I don't even have the windows feedback app listed in the start menu or application list.

The shutdown is still technically a problem in build 10166, I just found a workaround that worked.

Shutdown and feedback both working for me. Did a quest earlier today. And submitted feedback on an app.

Try turning on fast startup and see what happens. I think fast startup has cause some issues on earlier builds. I might try an upgrade install and see if that fixes the issues.

I've had it off since 10049? Was causing issues and never turned it back on. I read somewhere that it doesn't play nice with older hardware. And the laptop I test 10 on is certainly older. Think it originally shipped with Vista.
