Insider Preview 1703 Build 16176 fails

Since being with the test beginning with the Technical Preview I finally have hit a bump in the road on 1 computer. It has Version 1730 Build 16170.1000 on it but when it tries to update to Build 16176 all that is presented is a blue screen with Troubleshoot and Shut down the computer. When troubleshooting there is nothing working for the boot process repair and nothing to reset back to the previous version, essentially have a dead computer. It still works with Build 16170 but can't stop it from trying to update which results in the blue screen.

EDIT: forgot to say the very first blue screen gives only a choice of picking a keyboard, choosing US brings up the screen I described.

Berton, to stop it from retrying the update over and over, after you put 16170 back on, and before reboot, disconnect from the network (pull cable, power off router, what ever works....no wifi either). That's give you a breather to set the "Pause updates" or switch to Slow Ring. Then, re-connect network. Not a fix, but a band-aid to give you time to think.

The following new feature has only been introduced in the latest version, but worth giving it a try as it only takes a few seconds.

Did you mis-post that here? It's Berton's thread on a failed update.

No....worth trying when the blue screen appears....it only takes a few seconds....hardly time consuming.

There's a catch-22, I think. That ACPI trick is new in 16176, and it's 16176 that is failing to install. Unless I'm reading the whole thing wrong.

Sorry, dencal, but you've got me confused now. You're suggesting he try a feature available in the new build, 16176, when he can't install 16176. I don't understand. Bear with me. Sorry.

No cmon... I said I was confused and did not know what you were talking about. Don't criticize if someone really does not know what you mean. That's rude.
