If you sign-in with a MS account, you should be set to go. The stop button is only for those users who wish to exit the Insider program.

If you already pressed the button .... I'm not sure how to put the genie back in the bottle.

The button might change to Fix me but I'm not certain

While logged in to that MSA, open MS Edge, go to Insider home page, click "Get Started", and it should be working again in ~10-15m. Click that button twice if you have to ("Get Started" then go back to that homepage and do it again).

It's basically re-enrolling you in the Insider Program.

It is screwy - see if there is a notice on Settings > Acount to verify your account - if not then the button is just messed up. Mr E tried to explain this as just a refresh issue - the button doesn't get updated, but it's definitely a bug.

Try launching the Insider Hub app (you'll need to add the feature in Settings > Features & apps > add feature if you haven't already - drill down through the list of languages ... it is alphabetical, but that's the only saving grace.

Does the button behave (correct action) after launching the Insider Hub app?

Tried all those steps too Bill, still had the bug. I rolled back to 8.1 to be on the safe side.
