    SFC and/or DISM issues with 15042


    Just for grins, I ran SFC /SCANNOW and DISM /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth on my upgraded 15042 systems just now. On both test machines SFC /SCANNOW came up with a "file corrupt" error on a file named DesktopPixelShader.cso. Checking around online, I found this report on the MS Community: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-c7d3227a6f7c.

    Looks like this is a "feature" of 15042 and is reported as not amenable to repair. Just a heads-up to those who, like me, want to make sure everything is perfect with their systems. Interestingly on my system DISM is happy but SFC is not, as shown here:

    Looks like this is related to Holographics. Probably leftover from when they dropped the VR section in Settings a couple builds back. Doesn't seem to affect anything, probably because there's nothing to affect.
