When a new OS comes out, things change, and apps have to be rewritten to adjust for the changes, especially apps that are invasive into trying to override things the OS does. You will probably have to find new apps, or wait for the authors to update them. This is nothing new, and these kinds of apps have broken every time there has been large updates to Windows.

Part of problem is that these apps often rely on undocumented functionality. They observe that if they do this or that, then something happens. Then they write their app to use that undocumented behavior. When a new version of the OS comes along and changes how that behavior works (after all, they never documented it, so they could change it if they wanted to), then the apps that relied on this break.

The app authors are either not using API's they should be, or they just have to live with the undocumented changes if what they're trying to do isn't officially supported. It's the cost of doing undocumented things.

Oh yeah, I understand this. I had to find FlashWheel and WindowSpace when moving to Win8, as the older softwares I used on XP/Vista/7 no longer worked/no longer worked correctly.

It just annoys me that scrolling windows underneath mouse cursor without selecting that window, and snapping windows to one another when resizing/moving aren't standard features within Windows itself. I find both of them to be instances where, once you've used them, you wonder how you ever coped without them.

Personally, I can't stand x-mouse like behavior... I move my mouse out of the way to type or whatever, I don't want to grab my mouse and have accidental clicks do things in the windows under it. But, this has been a perennial argument between Unix and Windows people....

I barely tolerate snapping to the side of the monitors, snapping against other apps would drive me insane.

Another thing I've observed, which was also present in the previous -leaked- build, is that often the notification icon becomes white, and hovering over it says there are new notifications, but when I open the Action Center it says "No new notifications".

And now, here's another bigger issue I have observed since build... 10130 : my PC requires quite some time to shut down or to restart, and LOTS of times there is "some application" which is preventing the computer from shutting down (or restarting). I then press shutdown (or restart) anyway, and proceed. I have observed nearly the same behavior on my Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium installation. It started to appear after I have accepted to upgrade to Windows 10 and subsequently installed the respective updates.

All these will get reported (Feedback), of course, after a couple of days of using this latest build. WISH there would be an ISO to clean install it.

The Nvidia Windows 10 drivers only support series 600-up cards. Mine is a 570.
They are not available through windows update or Nvidia update for my card. I don't know if it would work or not.

Where did you read that? According to NVidia's website, 352.86 supports the 500 series.

This is the Windows 7/8.x driver, but I don't see why the same version of driver would not support the same cards on Windows 10. I just think your information is incomplete.

Hmmm - There's a difference in the numbers - one is 352.86 and the one supposedly for Win 10 is 352.84.
I had also read articles about the support for 600 series and up. It's quite confusing.

Ahh.. good catch, so they are different versions, so they might support different things.

Did you download the Windows 10 driver for 353.30? Or were you using the Windows 8.x version?

This build takes a little longer from welcome screen to a usable window. Anyone else experiencing this? Updated from 10130 clean install.

10158 looked good for the one day I had it , It rolled in 10159 today without any provacation or difficulty 10159 looks decent probably the best of 7 test builds so far .

Nothing unsusal about loading here on 10159 . OTOH 10158 had prolonged loading times *by comparison to 10159 *here* maybe one of the 300 changes they made from 10158 > 10159 fixed it ? :shrug:
