Stuck on build 14965. Can't upgrade to anything new.
Hello beautiful people on this forum. I'm new here but I'll try to be as precise as possible explaining my problem.
Before i begin, I did post more about my problem in Microsoft's forum so I won't go in too much detail here, but do check the link for more info -->Stuck on build 14965 can't upgrade to anything new. SEND HELP PLZ. - Microsoft Community
So about a month and a half ago I had this problem with Windows Update and ended up installing build 14965 from an official ISO and it runs smoothly and stably but since then i cant update to anything newer. Whenever I install an update (via WU or manually from in ISO) and I first log on 5-7 minutes later I start getting random BSoD or other errors (I don't have the dumps anymore, they accidentally got deleted). My laptop just restarts itself sometimes without even displaying the BSoD and is unusable outside of Safe mode. This has happened twice so far, on builds 14986 and 15002 with exactly the same symptoms and NOTHING I do fixes it. All I know is that it's not a hardware issue as I've checked everything on the Mobo but I suspect two nvidia drivers that magically appear after the install even though this laptop has not a single components by nvidia.(nvstor.sys and nvraid.sys are the two in question).
Help would be vastly appreciated and if you have any questions just ask. TNX
UPDATE 21/01:
Tried the new build (15014) today and it seems to have resolved my issue. For the time being it runs stably but now so smoothly, and those nvidia drivers have not installed themselves this time. I was almost certain they caused the issue but we'll see if it'll stay stable.
In any case, I'm leaving this thread here for anyone who might have the same problem, though I doubt it. I have also contacted Microsoft and they say their devs are investigating the matter so if i get any reply i'll update the thread.
cheers
