[QUOTE=Takaten;912301]I am on 14986 with my Lenovo Ideapad Miix. Never had problems by upgrading the insider previews in the past. With the latest 2 releases (15007 (and 15002 too) I experience the following. Download very slow. It shows 0 % for 1 hour, then 100 % for another hour, then asks to restart; upgrade procedure seems to work fine until the end, then GSOD and after the restart I find that the installation rolls back to 14986.I tried every solution found on google, but failed. In the GSOD for a few seconds I can read something like "Security check failure..." Cannot upgrade to new releases anymore? Sorry for my terrible English.
I had*the same problem and turned off fast boot in power options and on the second attempt to install was successful.
After restarting it didn't crash so this should work for you as there was some kind of boot bug.
Thanks, but it's not "the same problem". Fast boot off and still the GSOD; and back to OLD BUILD
Hello, I have the same problem: my build is rolling back to previous. If you find the solution, please, send me. I will be thankful.
I don't think it is a good idea to download the iso for a clean install. First of all, because the fail happens at the end of the installation procedure, not during the download with windows update. Second, because if it fails after a clean install, maybe I will not more be able to roll back to the previous version... Third, in my case, there is no ISO for my build version language, which is not english. By the way, something serious occured in Windows update since version 15002. It's very strange that I can install all previous builds without any problem and not the last three. I tried to disable the new UUP protocol (by changing the default "1" to "0" in the registry), but nothing. All drivers updated. The machine is OK.
The only thing I found on betanews.com (related to build 15014) is the following:
"Known issues for PC
During the installation of this build, Insiders may experience a storport.sys bugcheck (GSOD) causing them to rollback to the previous build. There is currently no workaround."
i dont know is the storport.sys bugcheck is my problem, but the GSOD for sure it is.
Sorry firstly, that fix i suggested was targeted at 15014 not the earlier builds ie is turning off fast boot - i also updated the intel hd graphics driver but i cant be sure whether that had any effect - i thought as it had the same problem it should fix your problem anyhow, but its just as sensible to wait for the neext build now unless you feel lucky as i couldnt really guarantee it to work.
