    MSRT for Insider this morning

Got an update this morning for Insider 14986 for the MSRT. Out of the blue.

Dated for December, 2016. and received this morning. Normally, this would not be any news to write home about, but I also have MBAM 3.0.5 installed with all real-time protections enabled. MSRT ran fine...but it drove MBAM totally berserk! Consumed nearly 100% of mem (16GB) and 100% disk. After 10 minutes of waiting for it to settle down, I had to re-boot to fix. All came up normally and no dumps or errors logged. Just totally bizarre. Just wanted to let others know of a weird happening.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dick. I'm running Defender on both of my Insider Preview machines, and each completed in under 10 minutes with no hitches or glitches of any kind. This is probably a "pre-staging" effort in advance of tomorrow's Patch Tuesday releases. That said, I could be wrong -- but at least, we won't have to wait too long to find out.
    Best wishes, and thanks again,

Just applied this MSRT to another Insider 14986 with the same general setup. No MBAM thrashing around. For now, I'll just call it an isolated fluke. Have no idea why it happened.

    Just keep telling myself:

"I love computers".... "I love computers".... "I love computers"....
