Since the pc with W10 has hardware switching with W7 and 8.1 and I have chosen to upgrade the 8.1, I will shortly have two copies of W10 on the same machine. I had intended to dump the preview, but I may keep it for a while.

Believe if 7 and 8 upgraded you will have two independent legit win 10 installs; if the preview is on yet another partition, you might end up with three, depending on what grabbed the preview. I'm putting 10 on top of the preview only at this time; not possible to run a new os on production machine for a while and then downgrade/rollback, not without losses.

    Calling all the insiders,
after clean install the windows 10 today, as an insider the Run 'winver' still shows version 10.0 (build 10240), is it normal ?

I think I'm going to leave the program.

Up until now it's been a mutually beneficial relationship. But from this point on I see it as being very one sided, and not in my favour.

Maybe if I knew the exact details of what this involves it would be different:

But, as it stands, it doesn't sit right with me, on principle.

As next replay states, experimental software is best inxstalled in non-production environment - separate partition or drive or system. Failing that, enable system restore/restore points in Windows (free), and image entire drive with Macrium (also free)

What's the big deal about information? So what. anyone seriously interested in finding something out can and will. Security exists only in fairy tales.

I left the WIP a few days before GA... so I'm running Windows 10 via the free upgrade from Windows 7.

I didn't really do a lot while in the WIP, lol.
