Wyn...A lot of the problem were caused by M$ releasing the two updates close together, Updating normally being done in sequence, this caused Error 0x80246017.
M$ have since rectified this as your above last sentence confirms by bypassing 10158..
I had no problems going from 10130 to 10158 to 10159?

I didn't get 10158 and 10159 at all before I created a new Hyper-V virtual machine with 10041. It then immediately upgraded to 10159, I grabbed the ESD, made an ISO and now all rigs running 10159.

    Sounds good to me, Jeff.

I will stay with the Insider Program as well as upgrade Windows 8.1.

Why? Because I like to live dangerously, but not so dangerously that I can't backtrack.
I think that's a great idea.. I just like stable.. that's how I role. I know I can wait but I just will move over to the RTM on the 29th!

I will remain on Insider with my flight deck computer - it is specifically for this. The rest of the family goes over to GA - including the monster in law and my gaming rig and tablets.

I have another theory @Kari but I haven't got the chance to do it last night on my other 10159 installation. I was about to do it but when I clicked update to try again, it did get the 10162 update. Bummer!
I was thinking about deleting all the installed updates. Maybe (just maybe), if starts downloading all of the updates again, it may continue on with the new build after a restart.

If you delete all the updates prior to an update, how would M$ identify that you were an insider.

Updates has nothing to do with being an Insider. Your MS Account does.

Please allow me to correct myself: "I was thinking about deleting uninstalling all of the installed updates."

As far as I am aware your M$ account only recognise you are an insider, if you have a legitimate O/S installed.

There is no such thing as "legitimate O/S" for Windows 10 Preview. It's FREE at the moment as a stand alone OS. Everyone can download and install it.
Regardless, the updates I'm talking about are those bug fixes and enhancements from Windows Updates. I don't know what kind of update you are referring to.
