Windows 10: Build 10130 lack of persistence in display scaling

Build 10130 lack of persistence in display scaling

What can I try to achieve persistent, consistent scaling in Windows 10?

Hardware: nVidia Geforce 750M, Haswell chipset, 15" touchscreen display (3400x1800 IGZO)

Symptoms: When I power up my computer it displays a 1:1 scaling, which means the text is (for me) nearly unreadable. I can open up System Settings --> Display, where the scaling bar reads 300% even though the display is clearly showing 100%. If I slide the scaling bar to 200%, a popup tells me this is the recommended scaling for this display. I then click apply and another popup advises me to sign out and sign back in. If I make that mistake, scaling returns to 100% and I'm back at square one.

    Hi there

Seems fixed in unofficial Build 10147. It might depend though on your Video hardware -- NVIDIA stuff isn't always the same --a lot of "Generic" chips on various people mobos or even dicrete graphic GPU's.

Thanks, Jimbo. I expected this is the sort of thing that would get ironed out prior to RTM but given that Win8.1 never managed consistent support for scaling (despite the fact that HiDPI screens predate Win8), my early experiences with Win10 TP have been worrying in this regard. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
