Right, Jeff. I was thinking October 15, but since I wasn't sure, "sometime" seemed to be the best thing to say. :)

So, are you going to continue testing?
I'm not sure to be honest. First I just want to get the final release set up and going then I might set up a dual boot with the TP assuming I can and there are no major issues setting this up.

    Good morning, RiverJack.

Do you have another version of Windows you could temporarily put on the computer you hosed? Or, is the computer you're posting from able to download the ISO?

Another solution would be to use the MB & CPU to build a temporary computer, get what you need, and then turn it into a NAS (which I know nothing about) after you get your regular computer back into shape.
    Hi Wynona,
I do have 2 other PC's I could download the ISO from, Its looking like that will have to be my only option. Im trying all kinds of crazy stuff but this build that it reverted to is dead in the sand. It wont function. gonna start clean and lose the raid. not coz it doesnt work, actually RAID 0 and 0+1 both work really good, even with just the onboard intel x99 chipset! I was really expecting trouble with the raids but I thought Id have a lash at it anyway! The reason I'm going to go single ssd from here on is that a system image wont stamp the chipset drivers so every time I do an upgrade, the data on the raid is there, but coz its not a regular update like raids are capable of, It is foreign to the os and wont play nicely. I think thats whats happening! I'm usually wrong tho, so yea... I'm getting nagged at present about the certs for my windows user registry. I cant import them coz it wont let me! Its almost like its doing this out of spite! I try nice calm maneuvers that i read about off my only lifeline- google chrome, and windows 300, with his roman get up, spear and such! is there - arms crossed, shaking his spartan helm at me in defiance.

Dang, RiverJack, you're way ahead of me as far as the Raid thing goes . . . I've always stuck to single drives.

What I find very useful is an external drive. I have one for each of three of my computers so that anything other than the OS and programs/apps goes on the external. It's always hooked to the PC and if need be, I can move it to another computer if there's something there I need. And, of course, there's always OneDrive. Which I admit I don't use as much as I should.

I'm still debating with myself whether to take the regular hard drive out of this computer, install my 240 GB SSD and put Windows 8.1 Pro on it in preparation for Windows 10 upgrade. I'm just not all that "up" on UEFI stuff, but as long as the original HDD remains "outside the box" I think I should be OK.

Bottom line for me is that when things go terribly wrong while working with a Beta/Technical Preview, a reinstall is my best buddy.

I'm going to keep testing on my laptop. The rest of the computers in the house will eventually be moved over to stable builds. Third party programs that we use for accounting and such, will determine when that will happen.

I'm going to keep on testing for as long as I can. I tested Win 7, 8, and 10. Makes for a great hobby.

Anyone else getting ads in the weather app? I only get it on the official ISO I downloaded from MS. The clean install I did from my esd doesn't have any ads on the weather app. I'm getting tired of that stupid smile in the Skype ad.

No, I went the update route and no adds for me. Yet.
Hope MS doesn't go in that direction. You should post some negative feedback on that. I know I will.

I do. First it was one for the store, now it is the Skype one. At least it is less than the adds in the W8 version

No ads and I did a clean install from the ISO that MS supplied for 10130.
