Revert back to Win10 from Insider Preview

I have a computer that is running Insider Preview 10.014971 Build 1471.

I have a New Computer which I will run the Insider Program on!

How to I revert my old computer back to Win 10 from the preview version as above.

I want to give the old computer to another member of the family.

The only way to go back is to erase the insider preview and do a clean install of version 1607.

    Aye! Aye! Commander!

Where would I get ver 1606?

There is a file on Disc C: called Winows.old, I opened the file & it says WinSxS. Does that help any?

    Sir:

What you are trying to say is:

If I installed Insider Preview over Win 10, I cannot revert back to Win10 without out a NEW Win 10 Program?

    Is this true?

Unfortunately, yes. There is a 10 day "revert back" period, but once the ten days is passed after you install the new build, the only way to go back is to re-install completely.

I started out with A Dec PDP 8E computer Input & Output was by ASCI 8 channel punched tape.
The punch tape was produced & typed out on a Friden FlexOwriter!

The program was written using MS Dos version 01 & MS basic 01, I think!

It was used to run some of the first N/C controlled Machine tools. The Machine controller was either a GE or Westinghouse, both use 8 channel ASCII punched tape! That was during the "Space Race". We had to go to computers to run machines because HUMANS COULD NOT manually run Machine TOOOLS to get the required accuracy required in in the Rockets Used!

    That was many moons ago!

    @Tully

It's preferable (and safer) to use the Official Microsoft Site instead of a third party site.
