Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview?

I'm currently running 10 Pro Insider Preview on a desktop and would like to do it on a laptop as well. The laptop is running Windows 10 Home now, but I would prefer Pro for Insider Preview. Is there any way short of a clean install to manage that?

I couldn't make the change a few updates in the past, seems the Insider Preview is a different edition from the RTM/Released version. As far as I've seen on my test machines the Insider Preview is Pro only while the RTM/Released version is available as Home and Pro. There's also the Enterprise and Education which many consumers/users won't use.

I think I may not have been clear enough about what I'm asking. When I originally got into the Insider Preview program, the Windows 10 build was installed on a clean HDD (XP had been on it, but I had deleted that partition). The Insider version of Windows 10 that got installed was Pro. It still has Pro. Is it no longer possible to get into Insider Preview with a PC that has no Windows version installed? Past experience has shown the Insider Preview version installed on a system that already has Windows will be Pro or Home, according to what's already there.

Setting your Windows to get Insider preview builds will not affect what edition the Windows is. If you turn it on for a Windows 10 Home PC, then it just be a Windows 10 Home PC that has an Insider build. You do of course need to have Windows 10 installed to be able to get Insider builds for it.

Thanks, Brink. I really don't care about having Pro on the laptop except for Insider Preview use. And I'm certainly not going to lay out $100 just to be able to better help Microsoft.

You can still clean install if you ever had Windows 10 installed on that laptop. I had a couple of machines with insider builds that wouldn't boot as they had run out of date (as I'd forgotten about them).

I wiped the disk and clean installed and they activated fine. That will only work if you had an activated Windows 10 (insider or not) on there before though.

I've also done Windows 10 clean installs a couple of times. But I don't like doing that if I have lots of other things installed. Clean installing Windows is a piece of cake, but not so with all the other programs and custom settings.

I had video issues with the computer I used when first getting into the Technical Preview [later became Insider Preview/IP] so I resurrected a different computer that had Win10 RTM 32-bit. I put in a small HDD resurrected from a Vista machine and used the Install.esd file to convert to an .iso, installed which wiped the HDD. The version of IP is Pro 64-bit so that was good. Since it had Win10 before it did activate on IP Version 1607 Build 14936.1000. As mentioned by others, once having Win10 installed and activated other choices become available.
