My point is that this close to a release date the developers should know what the end result is going to be and chucking out daily builds implies that they don't know what that is!. Tinkering like this stinks of "we've got it wrong!". Builds at this stage should be stable and getting bug free which they are clearly not - someone has stated that this shut down/restart bug has afflicted other Windows OS's - in that case they should know by now how to stop it!

Huh? It's still 2 months before final release. They're still doing daily builds. They're still adding new features even.

The thing most people don't understand is that Windows 10 isn't being built using the old development methodologies. They're using Agile development, which works in small 1 week "sprints" where each sprint develops new features, right up even to the end of development.

In the old days, you would design your system up front, create reams of design documents, and then developers would go to town for 2 years of development, then ship it off to testers. At this point it was considered "feature complete" with only bug fixing being done. That's not how it works anymore.

Now that makes sense to me at least. And from what I've been seeing in Win10 the methodology seems to be working rather well. The thing to keep in mind is Win10 is still in development and while it's getting ready there will be bugs in each TP build and when the final release comes out there will be bugs. There is no such thing as a bug free OS.

Windows 10 is likely over 60 Million lines of code and testing it is far from easy. So patience is needed on our parts.

Add me to the list of people running 10130 where this same problem is happening.

I'm also having problems pinning things to the start menu, as well as changing my wallpaper to any type of picture. It's ok with solid colors, but I pick a picture and nothing happens.

Try shutting down using right click shut down or restart from the start button.
    Works for me every time.

I have this problem intermittently with official Windows 10 release (build 16384?). It says something like click ok to shut down app but didn't specify which one. Every time this happened, there usually was a Windows Update package (except virus definition) to be downloaded and installed. After updating, the problem was gone until next time. Does Windows Update cause this memory error?

I upgraded from windows 7 to 10, In my case I solved by uninstalling Sound drivers and re installing windows default drivers.

My suggestion is to check your Sound, display drivers and try to Reinstall them.
