    Cortana in Build 10122

Cortana in Build 10074 was working in all aspects. Installed 10122 as an update yesterday and Cortana is not working at all. The search function using typing works fine but no Cortana. If go to Cortana Settings, she is turned OFF and I'm not allowed to turn it ON. There is a message "This setting is managed by your System Administrator"! I am the System Administrator of course!!!

I haven't seen anyone else report this anomaly yet either here or in the Win 10 TP Forum. Anyone have any idea how I can convince Microsoft to let me turn her on?

It seems to work fine for me, just updated to 10122 overnight.

I find her more of a toy at this point. No compelling reason for me to
    use her yet.

Ironically, I have no use for her either and will never be using her but I don't like to have things that don't work as they are supposed to. I'm nearly 87 years old and I guess just getting crochety!

Check the policy settings to make sure Cortana is enabled:

    • Start > All apps
    • Windows System > Command Prompt (rt click > Run as administrator)
    • "Yes" at prompt
    • Enter command line: "gpedit.msc" (witohut "") then press ENTER
    • Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates
    • Windows Components > Search
    • Rt pane: Setting > Allow Cortana (double click or rt click > Edit)
    • Click Enable radio button
    • Click OK
    • Close console

    I recommend a reboot.

Test to see if it works. If not, I'll try to find the next trip wire.

    Regards,

Thanks very much GEWB. I believed you were on onto something and when I found Cortana "Not Configured", I thought we had it. Unfortunately, my situation remains the same even after verifying that the change to "Enabled" held and then rebooted. I greatly appreciate your trying.

Cortana works for me too and I did an upgrade. It will open programs for me but it still needs a lot of work or it will be as useful as the animated Office Paper Clip.

For some reason, that sounds dirty to me

I hope women don't tilt their head and read it the wrong way now that I brought it up.

Oh ... even that sounds dirty.

Vladimir, install was an update from 10074 where Cortana worked perfectly.
