Not on Insider Build but error message: Your Insider Build Needs Attn

Am not on Insider builds. Getting Error on Updates Your Insider Build Needs Attn........
Not logged in to a MS account.
Running anniversary ed upgrade from last release clean install, valid retail key win7
Running Norton Utilities 16, Spybot Anti-Beacon and O&O Shutup10, registry hacked to turn off Cortana
Everything Win10 that can be uninstalled is or is turned off in settings.

All I have seen is to fix if on Insider Build Program, any suggestions ?

Hello Pkshadow Welcome to the Ten Forums!

The prompting you are seeing is most likely to get you to notice and install updates that have been accumulating. Otherwise that is a strange one. You might have to sign into an MS account if you already had one setup in order to see that account's information updated on the change from Insider to Anniversary. That would then see everything synced properly.

The most common element seen so far with that type of message would be security settings needing attention. That involved getting Insider builds to start coming in however as indicated on another thread. Solved Your security settings need attention to get Insider Preview builds - Windows 10 Forums

Now upon some Bing research of this type of error message the Windowsreport site is now indicating this is being seen with a number of people who got the August 2nd on and then suddenly started seeing the: “Your Insider Preview build settings need attention” message baffles Anniversary Update users type error come up on them. Fix: Your Insider preview build settings need attention

That blog links off onto another older one indicating the Insider Preview builds would continue after the Anniversary update which comes as no surprise since new updates will be tested on the newer developer builds to come before Redstone 2 and RS3 arrive on separate dates in 2017. Plan on seeing one or two newer builds each year for now on since you won't be seeing service pack type updates and the option for Insider builds is still going to continue as well. Microsoft will roll out Windows 10 Preview Builds even after the Anniversary Update is released

You could try enabling the Get insider builds option for the present time before any newer build does arrive to see if that clears things up for you. So far this has been a first seen here at 10 F for this type of problem. If you see an immediate result you can then simply opt out of the Insider builds before any arrive.

Well did not see this post till after went to Link a Account for Insiders Build and did then left the page and came back and un-linked my account and now it does nothing; it is all greyed out.
So your last post is now not going to work for me.
Will keep track of when it may or not be possible to log back in and post again here if use above maybe solution or keep track of others that may post here with same issue. So thanks, will get back later.

    Well that screwed things up...
It gave me the stupid beach and time screen then added a login box that I had no idea what password was.
    Finally figured it out.
    Got rid of Login box.

Wish I had known that logging in would create a local password associated to my email account and show it.

There's a privacy setting that will remove the personal info from the Lock screen. You will want to look over the guide for that. Sign in Screen - Do Not Display User Name in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Another guide I think you will find quite useful is how to set things up where you log in automatically even when you have to otherwise enter a password manually. Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup - Windows 10 Forums

Those two will get you through the personal or other email address/user name displayed/need to manually sign in constantly problems in fast hurry! If you are able to sign in presently when the linked account you should also see the option for signing in locally without the need for a password unless you assign one after the account is linked. You first need to log in and then restart into the local unsecured account option however.

In other words for logging in as admin you would sign in with password or set things up for the auto sign in. Afterwards you would choose the sign in options for the local account(new) without any unless you then assign a password is how that is supposed to work. By creating a second admin account you could change the first or new into a standard account for automatic sign in as well. Account Type - Change in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

At least you have alternatives available to work with over being permanently totally stuck in a hard place.

    Thank for account info.

Have discovered in error logs that yes the Insiders Preview is linked to Cortana and reporting as could not find my info after I deleted my info.

Am going to call this one solved Night Hawk solution seems the most reasonable considering I am using Spybot AntiBeacon and O&0 Shutup10 and have hacked Cortana.

If still getting this issue will report but think with all the errors just found in the logs this update and version could have been held off on as is incomplete poor development compared to 1151 and lack of errors in the logs.
