Yep! On 11 computers in my house. And a couple computer users in my house don't have much common sense.

    redstone update still hanging.
I uninstalled security softs, I declined updates, but at the end of the day, it gets to 99% and then hangs. I left it overnight just to make sure.
A forced reboot results in inability to start up windows.
I could restore once again with macrium reflect, but I would like to solve this problem.

I wish I could help you more. My father-in-law's computer gets to the point where it is going to reboot for the first time to finish the update and then just pops a pop-up window that installation has failed.

If you restore with Macrium reflect, maybe shrink the OS partition in the process by about 50 GB, and leave 50GB free on the disc, then clean install 14393 to the free space and see if a clean install completes?

thanks. I can try a clean install, that's probably the most sensible thing to do at this point.

I must be using a corrupt installation file. Even when I selected to delete everything and install fresh, it hangs at 75%.

It does seem to hang there for a while. So be a bit patient. If more than 20 mins, try rebooting removing flash drive, and it might carry on (did for me).

is there any reason not to mount the ISO and run the installer straight from windows?

No - I've done it several times successfully.

I got a hold of a different ISO, and everything went quick and smooth. The old ISO had additional updates on it, namely, .net framework, and apparently that was the problem

    Hi,

    Just for information.
I've downloaded both the Anniversary ISO and the Insider Preview one straight from MS and compared both.
They are absolutely one and the same, the sole difference being the names of the ISO files.

    Cheers,
