I was trying to use spartan and had to put it aside for a while. I installed FF and as soon as I did, a message popped up from MS? feedback and asked me why I installed FF. The feedback was typical multiple choice and a couple of narrative type questions. It was almost immediate.
Wow! I haven't had anything asking why I installed Firefox, but I did get a couple of questions about how likely will I be to recommend Firefox.

I gave it a 4 and said Spartan wasn't ready for prime time yet. :)

    Backup

@Lee Some things are better unknown. I look at it this way.. if anyone teaks the OS and it doesn't work then maybe the person really shouldn't be tweaking the OS to begin with.
I'm not quite sure about this.
Unless you want to read 1000s of pages of technical documents (assuming you can even find them) tweaking is how you find things out.

I'd say, "if anyone tweaks the OS and they don't have a working backup of some sort, then maybe that person really shouldn't be tweaking the OS to begin with."

I guess the crux of my point is that I don't tweak the OS and I find that after instillation it just works.

    Hi All,
Build 10074 still seems rather buggy to me, as I stated in my original post in here, in addition..windows defender won't update properly, I keep receiving an error message. So for now, I have returned to using windows 8.1, which is a LOT more stable than windows 10.

Speaking only for myself, of course, but I have found Win 8.1 to
be one of the most reliable and crash-resistant OSes around. It
is certainly the most reliable version of Windows I've used.

This coming from someone who initially loathed Win 8 but, by
forcing herself to persevere and not give up, came to be very
fond of it, especially in its Win 8.1.1 incarnation. So fond, in
fact, that 8.1 stands a very good chance of being my 'XP'

Y'know, I feel rather sorry for those who swallowed the anti-8
hype and so by-passed or never upgraded to this OS. Because if
what I've seen of 10 so far is any indication, 8.1.1 just may end-
up being the best OS that Microsoft ever produced, and the last
of the 'real' (desktop) versions of Windows.

I find W10 to be more "desktop friendly" than 8.1.

Build 10074 runs great on my PC, as have all the previous Builds I've tried out. Sure, there have been a few annoying bugs to work around, but I expect that with test software. So when I read about the problems other posters are having it makes me wonder why I haven't experienced anything like that. As it stands now, I will definitely install the final version of W10, when it is released to the general public.
Ah! I had exactly the same experience with 8.1 originally, everyone
around me was having issues, but mine ran like a Rolls-Royce.

I couldn't for the life of me work out what I was doing wrong...

Each to his own, and different people do prefer different things, but I
find the exact opposite to be the case. Maybe different on a tablet or
a Surface, with a touch screen (I do like the tile interface on my Win-
dows phone, but not on my computer).

But, as they say, your mileage may vary.

Yes mileage does vary a lot. I can't remember anything in life that does suit everybody, so no OS is exemption. Just about only solution is as much possibilities to customize to one's needs as possible. I' like customizing, I don't think I have anything that I didn't change at least a bit from standard, factory stuff, that includes cars, trucks, boats etc.

I have got something similar. In fact, I spent a minute or so convincing myself that there actually was a MS feedback Windows dealing with Firefox...turns out there was

In the end of the day it's always YMMV.. everyone has a different need/expectation of what they want/get from an OS. In this case I think that Win10 delivers very well for me and given that it's going to get all of the future development effort it makes sense to me to get the upgrade.

Keep in mind I'm dual booting on my PC, Win8.1.1 as the primary and Win10 as the secondary for playing/testing. With Start8 Win8.1.1 is a very good OS but I just find Win10 is better for my needs.

    Again.. YMMV
