Yeah that's the place - right on top of All Apps. A very unfortunate position when I scroll thru the apps.
Ahh, yes, I see what you are saying. But it just makes the scrolling window a bit shorter. On the plus side, on the previous release, I had to click on someplace in the start menu to even see the all apps button - otherwise it was occluded. At least I don't have that now. I thought you were having something similar.

It is an improvement to me.

How about having the Power Button on the taskbar, to the right of Clock?

I suggested this to MS a while ago, along with other Menu ideas (two panes - presented much as File Explorer; list, icons, tiles, details, etc - hide either pane for your preference (Start menu or Start screen or have both as the presentation)

Oh well, MS isn't paying me to design it, so we'll just have to take what they give us.

    Nice suggestion.

But really in the long term, does it really matter? I am more concerned about bugs and performance right now. I can live with most lese (except the paltry settings options on a lot of apps and system level).

If we still had the pop out applications menu of windows 7 we wouldn't care

That's an excellent idea. I would support this. And we do have options - many options. We don't have to eat everything they give us. I already do half of my computing with Mint Mate. There are just a few Windows programs for which there is no Linux equivalent.

I would like it to stay on the start menu, like this pic. I will submit it to MS

Looks like no more Themes for Desktop Background though. It's one of the eye candy things I've liked so much since Windows 7.

Look left young man, look left.

    Bottom Right

That's exactly what I said would happen when they first moved it.... lol... and everyone argued that it wouldn't be a problem
    Not me.
IMO, they should have moved it to the bottom right like in W7 (i.e. under the tile panel).

In fact, given that most Windows users are using (or have used) W7, I don't see why they don't make it function exactly like the W7 "power" button (i.e. let you choose its default function).

IMO, the trouble with that location is it's right next to the almost non-existent "Show Desktop" slice (it's not really a button anymore).

No problem.. it took me a few minutes to find that option as well.. It's the same as before but it's all moved around.
