Edwin, thanks, that looks good. I will try that. But what an inconvenient way to get back to something that you can get with 1 click in 8.1. W10 really sucks. I am getting more and more disenchanted.

Update - that worked. But again, I had to make detours to save the new theme.
    Yeah, it's a pain.

You have to set the color of your Start Menu and taskbar first here:

then if you want to match certain colors from those or other elements, just take a snippet of the desired element and get the values using 'Color Picker' in Paint, then copy the values over to the High Contrast palette.

You're a hardcore tester Edwin. Dissecting the OS and all... :)

I think you just reminded everyone again where to find stuffs easily. +1 for God Mode. It's been a while since I last used it.
I hadn't used it or thought about it either until 'tracit99' pointed out the color thing the other day; then I thought, 'hey, wait a minute......'

I think we will get a lot of work after RTM when millions of desktop users fall for the MS ad campaign and upgrade to W10. They will then realize that they upgraded to a tabled OS which is unfit for the desktop and want to go back to where they were.

In the meantime I was able to define a new High contrast theme with the approach you described above (put 'color' into the search field)

And for those who have not seen "God Mode" before, create a folder on your desktop and copy-paste this as a folder name "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" (without the quotation marks). But I am sure most of us here knows how to enable it. :)

The topic above is right in there...

Only thing is, everything, in HC, has white 'boxy' borders around it; didn't have that in 10061!

I have a standard folder in my toolbar with the important system shortcuts that I carry from system to system. I think I originally created it in Vista.

And, last but not least: Add GodMode to Control Panel:

I am blown away with the new build on Windows 10. Just simply amazing., The only thing I have a problem with is reading the print and letters in the menu boxes like in the internet explore box where you type the internet address. Is there a way to adjust this larger. My Wife cannot read the letters. I am running a 21.9 Ultra wide LG 34UM95-P monitor with screen 34 inch's of desktop. Have setting at 3440 x 1440. (Want a nice monitor believe me get this one) The picture will blow you away. It is just about 4K but so close you can't tell.

    Thank you
