    Running 14388 RS1 on 1GB tablet

Well, we all know MS have updated minimum spec for Redstone to 2GB for new devices, with a warning it might run slower on 1GB devices.

So I decided to bite the bullet, backed up 10586 with trusty Macrium Reflect Free, and upgraded to version 14388 (using an iso I created from install.esd file inside a 32bit VM), double clicked on it and run setup.exe.

There was one heart stopping moment when my Linx8 rebooted at 75% but did not seem to restart, and I powered Linx on manually, and it carried on fine (probably just being too impatient). The rest went very smoothly - taking around 40 mins in total.

Found a few settings had changed but quickly sorted those eg it defaulted to tablet mode whereas I prefer desktop mode.

One minor issue was it reset my icon vertical spacing back to the default, which meant the bottom row could not be filled.

A quick regedit sorted that issue.

    All drivers were fine etc.

Now here's the thing - it is definitely snappier and more responsive than 10586!

So from my experience so far, RS1 will run fine on 1GB tablets - nothing to worry about at all.

Edit - one minor niggle - the regedit that prevents the lockscreen from appearing after sleep is not working even though it works fine on my pc.

I haven't a solution but Version 1511 Build 10586.494 is working fine on my 2 Tablets. I will disagree with the Upgrade, you changed versions from the Released to the Insider Preview [14388]. I would be curious how that will play out with the release of the Anniversary version.

I expect very little difference in performance as 14388 is very close to the final version.

Of course I will upgrade to final version soon.

The point of my test was to check if performance would be affected and as far as I can tell it is better - certaintly not worse.
