Windows 10: Display Is Out
Display Is Out
I'm assuming I got an update overnight for Windows 10 Insider, because today everything went to hell.
I have an HP 620 laptop, but the screen is broken. So I have an Acer external monitor attached to it, never had a problem before. At a certain point in boot, the external monitor will kick on and I'm good.
Today, nothing. The laptop is just sitting there. I know it's alive because I'm the bottom right corner, I still see my mouse, but it's currently on a black background, I don't see a toolbar at the bottom. Leading me to believe I'm not at the desktop, but rather some type of setup for whatever update I received.
Does anyone know of anything I could do to rectify this? If I didn't explain correctly, or if you need more info, don't hesitate to let me know.
Do you still have this problem or have a few restarts sorted it out?

My Lenovo Z500 updated to W10 and the display is now dark and hardly readable. If you press the up/down keys for display the little control pops up on the screen - the bar moves up and down but the screen remains dark and does not vary. In device...
My ThinkPad T500 running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional Edition worked great on and off a mini docking station with 2 external monitors. The dual-display setup allowed me to have more desktop space; when needed, I can take the laptop off the docking...
I'm wondering if Windows 10 has the capability to extend the display to a 2nd pc? I have another Win10 PC on my desk and when it is idle, it would be nice to use its display for content on my main PC.
Hi, my monitors natural resolution is 1680 x 1050, however, in Display Settings, there are three choices, none of which are correct for my monitor!
How can I get the correct resolution, as it was in Windows 8.1?
