But the question remains... why is Alphamale getting the message that Windows is expiring soon when none of us on the same insider build are?

If you right click on start icon, select command prompt (admin) and run slmgr /dlv what result do you get? This is mine:

LOL, at first I thought your expiry date was 10th January 2016 which has passed.

I then remembered that the US uses the totally illogical MM/DD/YYYY format whereas the rest of the world uses the more logical DD/MM/YYYY format.

Actually, now I think of it there was a film where the US was trying to stop a terrorist attack on something like 7/6/2016 (US) and were congratulating themselves when that day had passed uneventfully, putting it down to a hoax, until somebody realised around 4/7/2016 (US) that the terrorists were from Europe, and they only had 48 hours to go.....

Straight from the announcement in Feedback Hub:

In build news: today we are releasing Build 14383 for both PC and Mobile to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. On PC, you will notice a few things are different with this build. For example, the desktop watermark is now gone. This is because we’re beginning to check in final code in preparation for releasing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to customers on August 2nd. But we’re not finished yet and will have more builds to release to Windows Insiders between now and then. Remember you guys play a big role in helping us decide which are the final *final* bits that we ship globally.

    Hi,

Probably because Berton put it back by changing a key in the registry.

    Cheers,

I did a factory re-set on this Dell laptop and got it back on Windows Home. Theres no Windows Core at least that's what they tell me me. The Windows Preview is on. I hope that works.
