    I think this bug is a result of a bug that was fix with the volume resetting to 100%

    We fixed an issue that resulted in the volume mixer slider for system sounds getting reset to 100% after receiving a notification or altering master volume

    My machine is mostly silent because I prefer it that way, but since I've had problems with Skype for Business, I'm going to get out one of the five or six music CDs I have and do a little more testing on this issue.

    Oh, and don't worry if others say they don't have the issue . . . it happens all the time that some issues are selective, in that they only choose a few of us. I think it's just to make us look silly. :)

    Yep, I have it too! I'm listening to music and can hear it quite well, but the icon in my tray says the speaker is off. When I actually turn the speaker off, it shows as on.
