    @ksdixon

    I agree with everything you are saying...
    My biggest problem with Windows 10, is that it is simply not fun to use. Boring, unimaginative, and simply poorly designed IMHO.

    With Windows 7, 8/8.1 (with 3rd party menu), they are just fun to use and play around with. I love the Metro interface of 8, swiping back and forth, the Charms bar, the left swipe. I just find it very, very easy to use, and 7 is just elegant and easy to navigate. Windows 8 does add a lot to file explorer though.

    I can't say any of that about Windows 10, even placing and arranging start menu icons is a chore, and ugly. Cortana and search are in the way. The settings have been stripped. Updating is a curse, no control on what gets installed. Search is horrid, with it's Bing garbage. I find absolutely, nothing worth switching for. Perhaps by the time build 40052, arrives it will have changed.

    I am amazed that anyone, could consider it a superior product, well it does have DirectX 12, but that will probably come to 8.1 eventually. Oh well.. it is one of those Love it or Leave it choices.

    it's not a 'product' yet.

    I think MS is doing alright with Windows 10 so far. There are a few things I would like to see changed. Nothing that would stop me from upgrading when 10 goes final though. I've only had a few bugs in build 10049 and they were minor. One bug was the pop up reminder that a restart was scheduled for a update and there wasn't any update. Spartan looks like it's going to be OK in time. I don't think It's going to become my main browser. In build 10041 I did a test of System Restore and it did do a restore. The only problem was I lost the search function. I tried undoing the restore and search still would work. It did give me the motivation to do a clean install. If I had known that a new build was going to be released a few days later I would have waited and done a clean install with 10049.

    For me, at least, I use an OS to run programs/apps so the fun factor is not an issue/consideration. Win10 works, it has a start menu, and any other feature I like is there. Is it "bland"... well, not an issue. I never have used themes on any OS so Win10 is just fine for me.

    Just my 2c as usual and Your Millage May Vary..

    It is a little bland. The taskbar doesn't even have transparency anymore. I liked Aero and although I was disappointed that they took it out of 8, I was fine with the way 8 looked. They seem to be simplifying it even more in 10. I'm surprised they haven't gone back to the grays of Windows 95. That said, I do like the way the windows look in 10. They look borderless, which is a nice touch.

    Spartan does not work with UAC disabled, therefor useless to me, same with the entire App store.

    Also MBAE (Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit) wouldn't run at boot. Updated to latest version and it's okay now.

    I'm just the opposite, I like the 'finished' border look. After all, we're talkin Windows here, and shouldn't all 'windows' have a frame!?
    Otherwise they look like Sticky Notes pinned to my desktop! :)

    The current Start Menu annoys me. It isn't the Windows 7 Start Menu, and it's not the Windows 8 Start Screen. It's an ungodly mash-up of the two that satisfies no one, in my opinion. I liked the previous Win10 Start Menu, where I could toggle between a Win7 style Start Menu and the Win8 style Start Screen.
