One more reason to go with a local account all the time. I don't want any apps on my system that I have not explicitly downloaded. And as far as I can tell, there are better alternatives for most of those Windows apps - except the weather app which is good. And if nothing helps, there is always Ntlite.

Well, since they were smelling rather fishy, I tried feeding them to KittyPaws, but he wasn't having any!

I download a lot of FREE ebooks from Amazon, if an interesting title pops up. Many I just open and I'm finished with it.
To get it out of my account I have to go to Amazon and manage my account....... it can be deleted there.
I wonder if maybe you could get into your MS account to remove apps. Anybody know somebody at MS that knows something
With my Amazon.com account, I just throw 'em back onto the web and they stay put until I decide to read 'em later.

At present you cannot delete anything listed in your "My Apps" section of the Windows store. You can install them, and then uninstall them on your PC but their entry in the My Apps section stays. The intent is, if you purchase an App, it's yours forever. If you reinstall Windows you just go to the My Apps section and install it from there. No having to buy it a second time or reentering your purchase info. IMHO, free Apps should be removable from that section. Or give us an "Add to My apps" yes no option when you try a new App out.

Yeah, the weather app is OK, but most of what's there to be installed, I never once installed; I just looked at it for more information and it's now forever on my computer.

I'm getting fed up with many apps! Especially the notion that they may replace all native applications!
    For instance:
If I need to grab a quick glimpse of a pic or screen shot, I'd like it to open immediately in Windows Photo Viewer as it always has, not wait for 'Photos' to load it's engine and tools from the internet.

I think ultimately one of us should make a very clean .iso with NTlite and make it available to everybody. That must be someone who has a fast upload connection because a few GBs will take time.

Skype is just about the only app I ever used. 10041 broke Skype and also gave a message about get the new camera app from the store.
Even with a MS account I could not uninstall the Skype and camera apps. I found a tutorial to remove apps using Powershell and finally removed the apps. Installed the apps again and they still don't work.
I much prefer a program with a complete menu with options. MS is trying to make the apps for computer beginners, which is OK, but I would be happy the dump all the apps in W10.

Here's a capture from my 8.1 machine. Everything dated in October was bundled junk that I uninstalled(I WANT IT GONE!) I only installed two the clock & solitaire game(Didn't like either, hide them) and of course the Windows apps that I don't need or use because I have a desktop version(they I would keep in case I bought an Windows phone, but then again, they would come with the phone too, delete them too), but Microsoft say's "You "bought" it you keep it, like herpes". Man I didn't buy anything, two free ones, I tried & the rest were forced on me. And the worst part is, they follow me like the Walking Dead from Windows 8.1 desktop to Windows 10 laptop, build for build for build.
I do not want to use a local account, or create another Microsoft account.
The ability to sync helps me keep track of my growing number of passwords, and eases the transition from one device to another(one of Microsoft's greatest achievements in my book). It would be nice if one could create folders like here in the forums or in Mail app and name them ourselves and then drag & drop. One folder I would name garbage for the bundleware.

I think before we start really cutting down the apps being put out in the store we here at the 10 Forums should first look at what level of computer use we are at. I would venture that most of use are at a level that these apps at are not being aimed at, at this time in the game. These are being aimed at those users who are not running high end, high cost applications/programs like Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc. Not sure in which direction the app store is going, albeit I am hoping that it will be similar to Apple's App Store where you can get just about any app or program you are looking for (MS Office, Photoshop, etc. I'll at least give it to the CP before slamming them, then they better look out. . .
