I am humbled. I must admit I've not watched a tutorial in ???? years.
Once more, I have no intention of ever doing so.

After 35 years as a computer tech, if I can't figure it out without a tutorial, I'll take a sledge hammer to my PC, and take up Knitting as a new hobby. Eh?

This morning, between my breakfast and my first service call, I downloaded "Tails" a new Linux version, burned the DVD, installed the OS to a spare HD and ran the thing. Hey.....it works to snoop, , oops I mean Browse the internet, with a version of Firefox, but the email program bites dung.
It was just an exercise in futility, so to speak, but it kept me occupied for a couple of hours. lol
Now I'm looking for something to do tomorrow! lol

With all the limitations of Linux, I don't see how anyone can really say that they like it. I can do better with Windows 98. I did, in fact.

For all y'all in snow country, take heart....... summer's just around the corner! It's already here in Florida.

    Cheers mates!

OH....and dudes, the ISO is out on the WWW. Just search for it. lol lol lol
That answers the question, "What do I do tomorrow".

IMO, all email programs are garbage (i.e. needlessly complicated).
I'm not sure how the "average user" (who can't cope with files and folders) can set one up.

That said, Thunderbird does what I require (mostly).
I use it in LM17.1 (default email package) and W7.

If you have to run Windows software then you are going to suffer (unless you run a Windows VM).

I still find that I need to open the Terminal a lot more often in LM17.1, than I need to open the Command Prompt in W7.

Tails is almost 10 years old not "new" and is not designed to be installed - that is the point. You could perhaps read up on what it is used for and why - it would keep you out of trouble

Linux Mint is actually pretty good. I used that for a little while, but the lack of driver support (my soundcard) is what made me switch back to Windows. That and some games.

On Foxit you have to have the 'hand', else it won't start (e.g. with the arrow pointer). But here is the direct YouTube link:

ESD to ISO Conversion - YouTube
Thanks, video matches what I did Used generated iso to clean install under Oracle VB and all works much better.
I'm going to try the iso to upgrade my Dell laptop from 10041 to 10049 and see how that goes.

I will remove Windows Update from Control Panel, uninstall Classic Shell if it's installed (don't remember) and run CCleaner to get rid of Windows.old first.

I don't think CCleaner will rid you of Windows.old. You have to use Disk Cleanup and check 'Clean up system files'. Then you have to check the boxes in front of the files.

Cleaning Windows.old folder in Windows 8.1 using CCleaner
CCleaner version 4.07 has been released with support for Windows 8.1 and IE11 Release Preview for Windows 7. This version has added support for cleaning of old Windows Installation folder.
After installing CCleaner, you can find "Old Windows Installation" entry under "Advanced" section under Windows tab of program window.
