    Upgrading motherboard - activation


    I have upgraded my motherboard to a much later version. On the previous motherboard I had the the insider version for about the last year. I have the iso for build 10041 for example.

    Can I get the insider version to run without installing and activating another version of Windows?

    Short answer no. You need to join the insider program from a qualifying OS otherwise it will not activate with a new motherboard.

    Unfortunately you need to purchase a new copy of Windows 10 and then re-activate the insider program on your new motherboard.
