Starting to drive me nuts, but not quite.
System -> Advanced system Settings -> Hardware Tab -> Device Installation Settings:
Set to NO.
Still likes to update Synaptics, do you think it's because its the insider preview?

Thanks for that, I'll check those reg entries when I have time, since the choice options are not working, I think on the preview builds it is hard coded to give them, when I went to the retail release builds for a while, it held ok, it was only after coming back to the fast ring that I began having this occur again.
It's not a deal breaker, it just kills my side scrolling of the touchpad ...

Marking as solved, but open to comments on if its the insider builds ... :)
Checked the initial registry entry, was at 1, uninstalled the newer driver, rebooted, set the entry to 0, then installed older driver, will evaluate.
But under that registry folder, I have this, safe to remove?
