My default apps are set correctly, they were not changed during the upgrade process to the new release.

I did just try reset them and reapply the correct applications and it has made no difference to the file open security warning.

I am pretty sure this has to be done with either a registry change or local policy.

the unblock option on a .jpg file says that it has been created on a different computer and that is why it is offering a warning.

edit: i just did some further testing and it looks like they have implemented some kind of file name based warning. Where if the filename is weird and non standard it creates a warning. So something like Rothbard-cc-cc-c-c.jpg or murray_rothbard_poster-rf988ce7ae6e04a73bd0086fe28baac98_wvo_8byvr_324.jpg would generate the warning but rothbard.jpg would not.

I just hope that this isn't something we will have to live with.

Actually on further thought i created rothbard.jpg so its possible that it why it was triggering the warning and not because of the filename. It is trigger the warning because the files were created on another computer.

Found a simple solution for this problem. Just go to internet options and then enable the ability to open unsafe files.

Disable "Open File - Security Warning" Message

I'm not sure that this is appropriate solution. This disable all warnings and is not recommended for average user. I will not disable this warning!

But as always, I could be wrong :)

It says next to the option that it is not recommend but I am going against recommendation because I don't need to be warned when opening files. I am prepared to take that risk.
