Build 10036 Wiped Out Settings and All Apps in Start

Just what the title says. Any fix to this? TIA.

Best fix: Go back to build 9926 and stay away from leaked builds downloaded from dubious sources.

Do as davehc says and go back to 9926. From a article Neowin posted yesterday, Microsoft isn't going to be releasing build 10036 to any Windows Insiders at all. From another article I read last Thursday, the next build is supposedly going to be build 10039. Build 10036 has too many bug's apparently.

    Hi there

Build 10036 is very definitely a TEST BUILD -- advice of course NOT to use it on any computer you want to use regularly --as a VM or if you have a spare machine and want to play with it then fine but expect all sorts of "Funnies" as it's not an officially released build.

I think Ms is having a few problems in designing a flexible start menu --IMO this is probably the main thing that's delaying the official release which a load of us were expecting by now.

As one who uses a Custom toolbar, the quick launch taskbar and desktop icons I don't really use the Start menu that much or if at all any more -- I haven't experienced that particular problem but did say in my original post on testing 10036 that the Start menu was still a bit horrible (or actually more than a bit --I think Dog's Poo comes to mind).

    Cheers
