can not extend monitor on build 9926 but could in old one

can anyone help me on this one? the old build I could extend my monitor but can't get it to detect my additional monitor on this, any advice?

With a new dowload it now works, apparently they have fixed it.

And you have tried the usual check cables, reseat and swapping them out? What type of monitor are you hooking up with your laptop?

yeah, it worked fine on the last build, but now nothing. It did say it couldn't detect my amd driver on the system so I am now re-installing it but not sure if that will make a difference.
as to swapping them out, it is for my laptop and I have a small moniter that fits on my desk, all my others are too big

Okay, Make sure the external monitor is hooked up while reinstalling the driver. Some people have had issues when installing the 10 preview. Sometimes a driver installs, and sometimes a reinstall of w10 gets it. Good luck

Edit: Try what badrobot said above first

yeah, I am absolutely up to date, but I just re-installed my amd drivers so I will give that a go. it isn't a major issue for me as I just pulled out my dell inspiron laptop and can futz around with this for as long as it takes. as I said the first build worked fine but I really was curious about cortana so I went with this preview
