    1. Removal of original built-in tools (E.g. calc.exe).
Sorry, but why does this matter?

    2. Inability in run multiple copies of 'Modern' apps such as Calculator.
While this is true, it also brings some nice features.. like resizability, and snapping...

    3. Lack of Windows Update settings for us poor people with very slow internet connections (e.g. The entire population of Australia).
What settings? If you mean you can't turn it off? That's just in the preview. As part of testing, Microsoft wants to ensure you're always testing the latest stuff. It makes no sense for them to keep getting reports and telemetry for stuff that's already fixed.

    4. Start-menu search overlapping Taskbar and application icons.
The default mode is that it uses the same space as the search in the taskbar. If you've turned off search in the taskbar then yes, it overlaps. But you can't press buttons on the task bar while the start menu is open anyways so what's the issue?

So many of the complaints I hear about the start screen/menu/whatever come down to "I can't see something when it's open"... and this is just really weird to me.

    5. Removal of vmguest.iso for Hyperv guests (No drivers for Guests below Win8.1)
My guess is that these are still in development. Consumer preview and/or final will likely have a working one.

    6. Elevated Explorer.exe prevents the entire start-menu from functioning.
You're not supposed to elevate explorer... In fact, they go out of their way to make it difficult to do so.

Yes, they should provide ways to launch shortcuts elevated for non-applications... but doing something that's very dangerous is not the way to go about it.

Just a thought.. What I would like to see MS do is supply multiple Start Menus for the user to select from. The option could be located in the setting section and it could have the following,
    Win7
    Win10 Expandable
    Win10 Realizable
And there could be more but I think that would be a good start.

Isn't that exactly what they're doing? They have the old start screen, the start menu, expanded start menu...

You have to realize that as MS adds new features, they can't keep supporting the old ones indefinitely. They have to drop stuff or they will end up adding staff into infinity to keep supporting the old while adding new. Windows would grow so bloated as to be unusuable, and it wouldn't fit on Blu-ray disk.

    1. Whilst I cannot multi task more than one instance of an App, I do have the calculator in my start menu and I have Calc.exe in System32.

    2. I don't know why, if all have the same experience, but the Start Menu search does not overlap my taskbar.
    3. Mystere hits the target with the comment regarding the updates. By all means, turn it off. But, be very cautious when you offer feedback. (I have the taskbar search disabled)
    3. Not sure about the taskbar button comment? I can select any taskbar icon I wish with the Start menu open?
    4. " just really weird to me". And becoming boring

That also happened to me, on my laptop I think. It was working and then after a couple of reboots it just stopped working. I couldn't open any sites. I've since duped 10 on that PC and gone back to 8.1. Not just because of that though. It was the finale straw though.

This may sound nuts. Try disabling wifi network adapter in network connections then re-enable it no reboot should be needed. You might get another icon added but that won't hurt.

In addition go Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet run the Network adapter Troubleshooter.

Try plugging in by ethernet cable to compare. Check Windows Update for newer driver, under either Important or Optional.

Update the Network adapter driver, or roll it back to a previous version.

This reminds me of older wireless adapters which stopped working during various builds of Windows 7 beta.
