I see nothing but complaints about every build.
This might interest you from the insider update. Agreed, rather pathetic.

I would view the complaints with caution, though. It is fact that 65% of those complaints were based around the lack of, or changes to, the Start menu. I am sure many others, if you are referring to what you read on forums, were also repetitive.

I am not defending the way MS have handled this but, it is really Deja Vu apropos Windows 8. Windows 8 was, and is a fine program. The best performer yet in their stable (imo). It was ruined at the start by a sheep mentality from pundits and uninformed posters on forums. Windows 10, again IMO, is already destined to go the same way.

Personal good luck, perhaps, but since the first public release of Windows 8, I have not had any problems that were worth a mention. Serious ones turned out to be an error on my part.

    Hi there
I actually disagree with you on this one

I think W10 has EVERY chance of being a really good and Popular OS. There are always niggles in new builds --remember how XP was almost universally derided and hated - people labelled it as Windows expensive and though the activation scheme would never work. What did we get - probably the most successful product (at least in terms of number of users and longevity) that Ms ever turned out.

The Start menu obviously needs a lot of work to satisfy people -- especially get the SEARCH to work. There should also be an option to totally hide anything metro for people who just want to work on a "classic desktop" type of work area and have the facility to switch into Hybrid (desktop and metro) or fully Metro (tablet mode) depending on what the user wants to do at the time. It's partially there already.

If the desktop users were given a W7 like menu and a bit more customisation then 95% of the complaints would go away. W8 was obviously the wrong change done at the wrong time.

W10 is coming along -- the fact that for probably what's an ALPHA build 100,000's of people are already using this as their daily OS says something.

In any situation some people will always winge. I'll bet if I were to go down the street chucking 20 EUR or 20 USD notes away some people would complain at me for making litter. !!!!

    Cheers

I'm trying out this one at the moment. It is free and doesn't ineterfere with your existing menu.

This is the only items I have issues with in 10 and would like to see improved

Pure Desktop with start menu - No modern apps/features anywhere unless they are chosen to be used (similar to Win 7)
Pure Tablet/Full Screen - No Desktop elements, but make desktop an option if required (Similar to win 8.1)
Hybrid for people who want a mx of both (Similar to what we have now)

Make it like that and I would be happy

Bugs aside, give me the option to have the 8.1 style Start Screen and I'd be happy. The scroll up down the All Apps just doesn't work for me.

I have been building , computers since 1982 , I have every versions of windows from 3.1 to windows 10 and I am well able to install any operating os and aslo able to see at a glance whats working well and whats not ..if people don't complain nothing gets done this is why Microsoft put out free versions of windows to allow people to play around and notify them of its bad points so change can be made. the old 9879 build of windows 10 was really easy to use .It was windows 8 in a new suit ,but everything was where I left it so not too much looking for things. this build 9926 is a different kettle of fish I had to search everywhere for the programs I knew where there but hidden( yes it will change) .me personaly I don't like this version but its only my view and not forced on anyone. my age group is 65 to 70 ok..

I've noticed a slight delay in it working at time but once it does there is no issue for me in it working.

Just a thought.. What I would like to see MS do is supply multiple Start Menus for the user to select from. The option could be located in the setting section and it could have the following,
    Win7
    Win10 Expandable
    Win10 Realizable
And there could be more but I think that would be a good start.
