Hi there
This build (on update rather than clean install) never prompted me for a Microsoft ID and kept my local user - even when I was connected to the net all the time -- Nice one - we shouldn't be forced to use an Ms account.
Most laptops have 1368 X 768 resolution - you get a warning : Your resolution is lower than 1280 X 900 so some items might not fit on your screen -- seems to be the case with the start menu I think there's some items on the RIGHT hand side that I don't see.
I think in any case the wretched start menu is TOO BIG - why waste nearly 45% of screen real estate on a laptop for instance - especially with the smaller screens. The previous build had it about the right size.
Drop down menu is in alphabetical layout - nice but I can't see any search facility so if I need EXCEL I can't type EXCEL in the search - I have to scroll down the menu or create a desktop icon or pin it to the taskbar.
The lack of a free entry search is a big mistake --hope that re-appears again. The explore windows (barely visible on my laptop) doesn't do anything when you type text in.
I like the new picture (pre logon screen).
Unity mode when running in a VM is broken again (VMware issues message shown in screenshot).
Cheers
