I thought the whole point of feedback was so that each build would have changes we wanted, but it doesn`t seem that way at all.

Or does MS just do what they think is best and we have to live with it.

Maybe there`ll be commercials saying "Hey, my name is Joe and Windows 10 wasn`t my idea"
Microsoft Says Windows 10 Build 9926 Is Entirely Built on User Feedback

Pure hogwash M$ is back to there agenda with a passion looks like W7 for me.

Too be fair. I would suggest that Microsoft made a big mistake in inviting 1.7 million users to try the OS and send feedback and suggested changes. Possibly the changes you, or others, sent, conflicted with the majority opinion.

Also the omni-arrow at the very top right which appears to explode it all onto a Start Screen is needed by whom? Is this how one is meant to get to the Start Screen now, and why would anyone want to if they didn't have it set that way by default? Isn't Continuum intended to do this during Setup, and where is Continuum during Setup? Can someone explain this to me because I'm apparently slow with their "improvements."
I think the 'exploding menu' is an element of Continuum, it's for tablet users with fat fingers!

Imagine a world, where all the machines, ATM, POS, Phones, Tablets, Desktops used the same OS...then look at a picture of Microsoft, then try to test what works and move on to the next build...

Windows update does not have a way to check for Preview Builds any more.
It checks for them through Windows Update itself now.

I still say customizable desktops and start menu would go a long way to get people to do the upgrade. I hate bringing up Linux. I also have a dual boot system with Lubuntu but I don't use the default Lubuntu desktop, I manually installed the Xfce destkop. When I am in Linux, I use the Xfce desktop most of the time. Microsoft needs a default desktop plus some other customizable desktop available for download at no charge.

I for one am a user that really likes the new start menu. The way it's organized is both nice and helpful for me at least. And I've not had an issue so far changing the title of the categories.
But what if one doesn't want categories? How do we get rid of those headings, or the empty spaces which inexplicably are for typing in headings for the Apps, to reclaim the space for a compact Start Menu with Pinned, Most Used and selected App tiles?

With maybe half of users pushing for Desktop style while the other half pushes for touch/tablet, they surely have difficult choices to make. But the way it was explained to me this will be sorted out in Continuum so that once you choose your interface or its chosen for you by the presence of touch (or not), the customizations would only need to be for that format. I feel like I'm having to retrieve a Start menu for Desktop use from encroaching touch/tablet preeminence that ruined 8 for most consumers.
@gregrocker to get rid of the categories with the dots just delete all text in each category listed and they will disappear. I managed to get my Start Menu arranged with no spaces although sometimes it takes some persuading to get a new row added without a space between.

One positive change by M$ is you can now move or place a tile where you want it and all of the rest of the tiles no longer reshuffle themselves undoing ones work to organize the tiles the way they want.

I would hope that in future builds that more customization options will be added and some restored such as turning live tiles on or off.

MS didn't have to change anything on the old Start Menu, all they needed to do was to add 1 simple icon for those who already learned to love the Start Screen:
