When in tablet mode you cannot access anything on the desktop, its all greyed out
That's because there's suppose to be no desktop environment on tablet mode. It should switch to Start Screen mode where things like Recycle Bin behaves like an app and not a desktop item.

@Jimbo The new Start Menu/Screen is a big turnoff for me. The messed up search function is no.2 on my list, especially since I can't find anything now. < only a slight exaggeration. I can find what I want but I have to dig for it and settings are scattered all over. First impressions are, "I do not want this". I'll stay with 8.1 thank you very much. I had high hopes and at present I'm really disappointed. On the plus side, it's only a preview and things could change, there is still hope. Time will tell.
I was fairly enthusiastic after trying b9841 (since it worked great for me).

The three builds since then have all been disappointing.

IMO, it seems like they need to rollback to b9841 and try again.

    Thanks
So on my touch laptop, where I want full screen apps as the default, there is no way to do this and keep the desktop

not sure I like this direction, there is no way 10 will go on my windows tablet if the desktop is disabled

Edit-1 ,instead of what i say below do the following ,use peak to show Desktop ,far right corner ,if it not enabled then right click on the taskbar, go properties and check to use peak to preview desktop , icons will show ,you can click on them but they will disappear each time

to fix that I created a new toolbar,[right click on the taskbar ,toolbars, choose new toolbar] if desktop is listed in file manger under thispc choose it ,then click add folder ,or direct it to desktop folder in C:\users\your username\desktop

Charlie; I got the update yesterday. be sure you have all the updates completed. I had just completed installing updates and it jumped right into the release when I clicked on check for them.
Cortana does not really function yet. she will say your name and ask what you want but that's about it.

Hey I remember that guy waiting. So great to getting closer to the drop. I got to find my mike so I can talk to Ms. Cortana, "Do I have to pay for you in the future or are you free for forever"?

IE has stopped working completely. I tried to open Ten Forums and got a IE has stopped responding. Then it did it on any page I tried to open, totally useless now. I tried to reboot into 8.1 and BIOS default had been changed to the Windows 10 drive. It blue screened rebooted and blue screened again. I powered down and forced a reboot into 8.1. I'm done with this on this PC. That drive will be wiped very shortly.

I see. I really wouldn't worry about IE if that happens to me as long as the OS is functioning well. I don't really use IE except for this preview. I will just get a 3rd party browser. I wonder when that Spartan project will be availble for testing. How do we get it? Is that what we have right now on 9926?
