Stuck at overall 76% with 4% configuring settings

Starting from announcing of windows 10 build 11082, I have already tried at least 7 times to update from 10583.36 to 11082.1000. But every time the process stuck at overall 76% with 4% configuring settings. At 76%, I have spent overnight to 12 hours, but no result.

This afternoon, I visited microsoft community, I followed the suggestion from their support engineer and applied the following steps: (the updating process was awaiting me to restart after download 11082 finished)
    1. perform a clean boot, do as suggested preparation, (exit msconfig without restart)
    2. perform hardware clean boot, disable devices as much as possible, as well as disconnect network connection
    3. Change region to US as well as system locale to English (Unites States)
    4. Back to 'All Settings>Update and Security' which updating status is waiting for 'Restart'
    5. Click restart
I left my desk and walked away to have a drink. When I came back, I saw Hi... on the screen. Update succeed.
I have performed captioned steps before but did it separately with poor result. So I think the combination of steps are vital to finish the updating.

Further to my previous posts about upgrade failure.

I decided to do a clean installation using a .iso I had built from build 14271 'install.esd'. That installed satisfactorily, and I have been installing apps, and using that build without any hassles.

Then build 14279 was offered a few days ago, so I tried to upgrade. Same issue, stalled at 32% and reverted to the previous build, 14271.

I wondered if the fact that I have 3 monitors, 2 driven by the NVidia graphics card, and one driven by the onboard graphics had any bearing. My primary (rightmost) and secondary monitors are attached to the NVidia card, and the 3rd monitor to the onboard graphics. Most of the time that 3rd monitor is disabled. So today I decided I would enable monitor #3 and make it primary. Started the upgrade installation, the progress display reverted to the rightmost monitor for the 1st stage, the system rebooted, the progress display was still on the rightmost monitor, and progressed to 32% overall (6% Features and drivers), no activity for a short period, perhaps a minute. Then the progress display went to the monitor driven by the onboard graphics, sat at 32% for sometime, and then continued the installation. A successful upgrade !!
