please Ms fix file explorer -- not showing progress on copy

    Hi Ms

this fault I find really annoying and there's actually no excuse for this particular defect : When copying / moving files with File explorer - progress indicator doesn't show - which makes the whole thing unuseable if you are copying / moving a whole load of files.

    (Latest build W10 Pro x-64).

    Cheers

Wasn't that a known and described issue in the latest insider build?

    Hi there

The post wasn't saying that it was an unknown issue -- merely that I (and loads of others) want this fixed ASAP and this type of defect should have been noticed and corrected BEFORE the product was released -- after all copying / moving files is hardly a "little used" facility !!!.

I just think Ms could (and should) have done better QC here.

It's a bit like say Audi releasing a new (not driverless) car but forgetting to include a Steering wheel.

    Cheers

It's usually a promising sign when MS acknowledge an issue, which means it's probably going to be fixed in the next update, but this is MS and they are known to let people down.

If this was a final version being released then I would agree that this should have been fixed

As its a preview version to test I don't see a problem, certainly not a let down

If people don't want to put up with bugs in pre release software then there is a stable version where this feature works

And starting in January the builds will be coming very fast and they'll have a lot more bugs. As a result of this announcement I dropped out of the insider program. There is now way I want to deal with lots of bugs, testing or not.

    My 2c.. just be forewarned

I hear ya, Jeff! I was getting annoyed by my airplane mode button and then Bluetooth button misbehaviors and working up the courage to become an insider so I could be part of a solution. Now with that promise of acceleration of insider builds, I've had second thoughts about taking the plunge.

If I were you I wound bother with the insider program unless you set it up in a virtual machine. Otherwise you're just going to go nuts with all the bugs. And I know I can't deal with that.

Acknowledged, Jeff, and I probably would have done it that way. For me it's more a matter of having the discretionary time to actively participate. I'm just afraid now that the time I could devote to insider is so limited that I have even less chance of keeping up to speed on everything if the builds are going to flow faster.
