build 9879
so there has been a new update and we have all been fooled by microsoft thinking it is only on a tuesday we will receive new builds to test. a pleasant surprise when i woke up this morning.
in the new build i have noticed they have moved the notification tab over towards the system clock but haven't changed any graphics in it which is disappointing. when you receive have notification in the tab the indicator is faint and hard to see also they should use live tiles in the tab. because this annoys me until they get it fixed i would rather it was not there but there is no way to remove it permanently, or is there?
they have made a lot of improvements to onedrive which is nice to see.
a strange change is the power icon, it looks sleeker however they haven't changed the other icons with the same graphics so it looks odd in my opinion.
you can now hide the search and task view button from the taskbar, this is good in my opinion because i think these are useless. windows search is slow and only uses bing which i hate (i wish they would just allow us to chose between bing & google), taskview is a good idea but i am yet to find a situation to use it.
apparently there are gesture improvements, like the three finger swipe on the touchpad to minimize apps or maximize apps. i can't seem to do this, is there something i got to enable?
mkv is now supported by WMP apparently, i refuse to use it though.
they have made the over-all animations snappier!
in file explorer, you can now pin your favorite folders to home. i don't understand this because what is the point of the favorites bar just below the home?
i read there is an improvement in IE but I don't use it, anyone that knows about this please tell.
microsoft replaced the "three dots" button in the Modern apps with a mobile-like "hamburger" icon (three lines) that should be more obvious.
well this is all that i have seen, if i left anything out please tell.

there are some new icons too, including one for folders with content.
