    I'm going to try Rufus 2.5 Beta 2 before I give up. In fact, when I need to create a bootable Jump Drive, I'll just log into 10240 and when I'm finished, come back to 10565. :)
    You know, I didn't give the Beta a try before I reverted to RTM... silly me
    I've downloaded it now and, if the problem arises again, at least it'll be there ready.
    Maybe I'll keep 10240 and install 10565 in a VM... best of both worlds?
    Thanks for all the info and the very interesting chat guys... I'm mid-60's and still/always learning!

    Gotcha by over ten years, Mlhifi and still learning too. I love testing new product!

    Yeah, I think a VM would be a good idea.

    @simrick @mlhifi @Wynona

    Got to thinking with my various scenarios with portable media/thumb drives and all that AutoPlay won't release. Would it make any difference if the sub-settings are configured as seen below? Sometimes if I don't use FE to transfer files it releases with no problems. If I do it won't release. This Device is Currently in Use - USB Jump Drive - Page 5 - Windows 10 Forums

    One thing to add is I never have a problem releasing my Windows phone.

    Would this fix the problem with rufus I wonder?

    I have to get to working on the house, but will be toying with this later.

    Thanks, Hippsie. I'll check things out in this area and see if there may be a solution. Or not. :)

    I really thought I had it pegged yesterday, but Whoops! It only worked once; surely glad I went back to check for a repeat performance . . . I think someone else said they'll eject one time on a fresh boot.

    @Wynona

    Here's what I've done so far:

    Rufus Test
    2015-10-20
    W10x86Build 10565
    Toshiba A215-S6804 Laptop

    New 32GB Microcenter USB3 FAT32 flash drive

    Plugged it in – (empty) – safely eject – OK
    Repeat – OK
    Copied a word file onto it using File Explorer – opened and closed the word file - safely eject – OK

    Ran rufus.exe (NOT the beta)

    Okay it seems to be working, although it's going to take forever, because I checked the box to do Bad Blocks 1x, as this is a new drive and I wanted to make sure it was in good shape. (and it appears I grabbed the RTM ISO and not 10565...)

    I think you just proved I'm crazy, Simrick!

    Edit: If the Jump Drive will safely eject, then Rufus 2.4 will run fine on it.

    And now I'm wondering if 32 bit (yours) vs 64 bit (mine) will make a difference.

    Well, it could be that I am on a 32-bit system....LOL
    But I had the safe eject problems on 10240RTM, so go figure...

    And I'm not going to install a 32 bit version of 10565 either! :)
